Default Sludge and Key

Went to the dealer today. They automatically add an MOC oil additive with the oil change. Said it was because of possible sludge problem that arises with repeated short trips when the engine doesn't heat up enough.
Also ordered a spare key. They said if I lost all keys that Lexus would pay for new computer($2500), but I would have to pay installation around $300-$400.

Don't know what it stands for, but it is mentioned in the owners manual. I asked the Lexus dealer about it and he said they don't use this oil additive anymore.

Instead of using additives, wouldn't it be better for your engine to change the oil every 3,000 miles instead of 5,000 and use synthetic instead of dino oil. I did this on the Jeep that I used to own and it still ran like it was brand new at 200,000 miles. The only reason I got rid of it was because I was was tired of the bouncy ride. My wife nicknamed it "the kidney buster".
