Default Not the smoothest ride

I have a 99 with 80K miles, car is clean and well maintained. The only problem is I can feel every dip and bump when driving-at all speeds. I had the shocks checked-they were ok-I have new tires-it's sounds like there's a loose rack under the car. Any suggestions or experiences similiar???

Annoying as all getout, completely random when it does it (other than always when the a/c is on). I thought it was the CD changer as well, but it definitely is not.

Anyone dug into theres and figured it out yet?
I have this exact same noise in my '01 RX, has anyone else heard it even with the HVAC turned off? (not just the AC off).

Default Its the Climate Control Motor

Had the same problem in my 2000 RX300 about a year back, removed the glovebox, and some of the paneling to finally find the culprit. Its a small servo motor that opens and closes the valve to keep the climate at proper temp. It ran continually even with the climate control off. If you can get your hands on another motor its a fairly easy fix, a little bit of time and patience and you'll be rid of the annoying noise forever. Good Luck!

Do you have a part number and/or a cost? Any pics of where it goes?

Anyone know the part number and/or know about how much this part for if I purchase it from a Lexus dealer? Are there any on;ine parts stores that stock this servo motor?

Everyone needs to read the write up and fix noted on our fellow Lexus forum, regarding this issue.

I have it too, I thought it was the CD Changer. Appeared at 78k.

I have the same exact problem. I just never bothered to look into it. I thought it was the passenger seat motor LOL

Thanks for the heads up on this.

Default I solved the sound problem

Hello to all the problem owners of the irritating sound.

It took me about an hour to get it fixed.
The problem was a servo motor in the console.
I took out the glove box and the passenger side (left foot) plastic cover.
Easy to do.

At the moment you put the key in ACC the servo will start moving. And it shoudn't.
The reason is simple. In the servo are contacts wich are measuring the opening and close position, The pressure on the contacts is not sufficiant after a few years.
Open the plastic (black cover) and remove some grease and push the contacts so that it will make a propper contact.

Build it back and test it again with the key in ACC.

If you need a better discription I will make some pictures.

Regards,

Wim de Kunder

Oh yea, if you could please post some pictures, it would be a BIG Help. I have the same problem and man... It's annoying. I tried to point it out when i went to the dealership to get my car service but they couldn't figure what it was. If you could attache some pictures and some instructions it would be great. I would definately look at it once i see the pictures and have the instructions.

Thanks

-Robert

Default Weird sound

Dear forum friends,

I will make a discription to solve this problem. But I have to go to Singapore for my work and I will be back somewhere in the beginning of december.
So in december I send the pictures and work procedure for this noise solution.

Wim

I have the same problem on my 2001 RX300. If possible, please show how to remove panels without breaking any clips in your work procedure. Thank you.
