I have taken off my front and rear springs before to put the rubber supports (boy do they ever get eaten), but not sure what you are describing...are you trying to get to the bolts on top that hold the rear shocks in?

Compressing the old springs to get them off is not doable without some special equipment.

coilover or spring? What kind of tool you have? Have you ever done spring/strut yourself before?

thats exactly what it is. I bought the Tein springs for 180 shipped. I didnt wanna shell out the extra 1100 for the coilovers but I may in the future.

Im just gonna wait until i save up enough for the Tein coilovers. Just got my rims today too! Will definately post pics when I get home.

Although I did mine on my RX330 I'm sure it is similar. The fronts are easy as he locations of the upper bolts are easy to access. Removal really is as simple as unbolting the brake lines, and removing the 3 upper nuts and 2 lower bolts. Obviously you need a lift or jack stands The rear you have to remove some of the trank liner to access the 3 top nuts, but removal is otherwise the same as the front. You will need a spring compressor to change the springs though. If you don't have one or have access to one forget about doing it yourself. After that just put everything back in reverse order, let the springs settle, (Mine took a couple of weeks for my Eibach's to really settle in) and get and alignment. That is just the jist of it since the RX300 might be slightly differernt than my RX330.

Thanks, yeah the front is no problem. I just didnt want to remove the trunk liner. Weird cuz you can access 2 of the bolts thru holes in the liner but the third one is not visible. My springs still didnt come in yet but my rims did and I just put them in I cant beleive how huge the gap is. Looks horrible... maybe I should have just gone with 22s

It sounds like the RX300 could be fairly similar. On the RX330/350, you theorhetically could access the 3 nuts without removing the liner. After you remove the plastic cap covering the rear shock tower on the RX33X, there is actually 3 access holes positioned right above the nuts. The problem is the holes are too small to get most sockes through. Even if you do managed to get the sockets through by luck, or by enlarging the hole (It would be covered by the plastic cap anyway) you still have to be able to pull the nuts out along with the socket. You also would need to reposition them on the reinstall. After looking at it I just removed the liner. Actually, I only partially removed it enough to swing it out of the way just enough to get my arm in and remove/reinstall the nuts.
