Try CL sponcers.

I think you have to buy Toyota/lexus part.

Thanks.
I checked CL sponcers, and only dealer is the place where I can get that part.
But still the price is high.
I just wonder why only RX300 has high priced lid lift?
I spent almost 2 hours to find that part. I can find everything excpet the part for RX300.....WHY????WHY???
If anyone know where I can get that part cheaper, please let me know

Thanks~!

You can also look through junk yards.

Personally, I would fork out the $$ as there is a potential safety issue. 10 to 20% off the dealers price is a resonable price to pay. Since your options are limited (no alternatives to OEM part), gotto pay to play.

This is a KYB lift assembly. It is installed by replacing the ball mounts....with the lift assembly itself.

There is no substitute.

If you are a DIY'r and will be dishing out the price of tailgate struts anyway, FROM TOYOTA FOR THE 2001 HIGHLANDER (same component albeit w/ different part number),

you might want to try what this Lexus owner did... The link is for hood struts but process is same for tailgate struts. Just remember to support trunk before removing existing struts.

Or try what I did, my local Toyota dealer gives me 10% off on parts and the tailgate struts for a Highlander are priced about 20% cheaper than Rx... When combined with part discount it makes it a little less painful

Alternatively,

wait until this company has an aftermarket component...

BTW,
I traded in a10 year old Nissan Pathfinder with 142,000 miles with original clutch ( and original tailgate struts) to buy my RX (who's struts have failed already)
