The Nakamichi stereo in 2000 RX300 seems to be cutting out certain speakers intermittently. Often times the sound will return if you adjust the balance all the way to the nonfunctional side and turn up the volume, which seems to 'wake it up'. At first I thought it was one particular speaker (I posted that problem already a few months ago) but now it seems to be cutting out other speakers and for a much shorter period of time. What could it be?

Does this system have one amp, or individual ones at the speakers like a Bose system? Where is this amp? Finally, is this really an amp related problem or could the culprit be something else?

you might want to check for loose conectors at speaker ends first.
the AMP will be near spare tire (left side, i think)
