Ok guys,
I am going to attempt to replace the Cats in my 2000 RX300 along with the
O2 sensors. Any expert advise would be greatly appreciated. I still have the original Cats on the RX @ 125k miles, I am having a loss of power along with the familiar rattling of the cats. I am hoping to be able to purchase direct fit, bolt on replacements...is this possible or will I have to modify the stock pipes ? What about the O2 sensors ? Any trick to that ? Thanks in advance...

Not only OEM is very expensive, but the cat itself can not be separated from the resonator, exhaust pipe to the muffler. Basically you have to buy and replace the pipe and resonator even if they are still OK.
The best option is to buy an aftermarket cat such as an universal Magnaflow and ask an muffler shop to cut the stock cat and weld the new cat back.
You can also buy stainless steel Magnaflow model, enjoy higher flow, better rust resistance and still passes smog test for a lot less $.

TunedRX300 hit this one right on the head.
The main cat is one thing, but if you are talking about those 2 precats upstream...forget it...have to get the entire pipe.
My main cat was damaged by road debris and one of the precats got screwed by some tainted gas (I know now it was diesel tossed in to the wrong gas tank at the station).
Take a look at my homepage on the link below regarding the exhaust and that hi-flow cat I have from Magnaflow. Has to be cut out and welded. You should have zero issues passing if you are in one of those counties in MD that has the emissions.
