Idle air control valve
I was told by a mechanic that I need to replace my idle air control valve because my car dies anytime I stop. He is going to charge me like $150 to put it on. Does anyone know how hard it is to install one of these? If possible give me directions also. The part itself is like $200. Someone please let me know. Thanks

FYI I just cleaned the IACV and we will see if it fixes it. It seems to idle fine, but this was an intermittant problem. The IACV was sticky from carbon, so this should do the trick. The directions in that link are pretty good. You need a #2 Phillips screwdriver. Make sure it is this or you will most likely strip one of the bolts. I also had to use a vise grip pliers on one of the screws holding the TPS after I removed the throttlebody. The throttlebody screws are pretty solid, but the sensor screws are very soft and will strip easily.
Hopefully you will not break the throttlebody gasket, and inspect it carefully after pulling it off.
