They are the replacement for the OEM...not sure if there would be much difference in the ride, but they are what I am going with in the future, though I have been looking at some JDM options (check you HyperRev Magazine as there were many shocks listed I have never seen).

The KYBs are what comes OEM (though a different generation). It is not necessarily a DIY project as messing with those springs (I have done it with my uncle and cousins to replace the rubber insulators) and it is a major PITA without the right tools, fortunately we have them.
Ideally, what I plan to do in the future (when the shocks finally die) is to replace them with the GR-2s (would have to see something really good and affordable out of JDM to consider it) and go with Intrax lowering springs (though kg/mms at a 2.2 inch drop are tempting but $$$) to kill two birds with one stone in terms of time.

The last time I checked, a few other options are the TTE/Eibachs, Espelir (Japan), B+G and H&R.

anybody with kyb gr-2?
I am thinking of getting 4 KYB for the front and rear of my '99 AWD from EBAY
1) Anyone had any experience with this seller?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KYB-G...spagenameZWDVW
2) Is there anything else that I need to replace such as bushings, strut mounts, bearings, etc.?
Thanks,
Jon

Yes, thank you for the alignment advice.
I've read thru the forum and I need to order the top/bottom strut mounts. Any one knows the part number for these and is there a good source to buy Lexus parts from?
Thanks,
Jon

Good choice. You'll love the stance after you put the Teins in. Thats what I have and the ride is definately not bad for almost 3" of drop. BTW do you workin at Pelican Bay?

KYB G-2s
HI, I got a set of these on my RX300 and there is a huge difference.
They were installed @ 30K along with a set of Cross-Terrains about a year ago. I decided to do this after placing a set on my 1993 Camry. These made the car drive like it was brand new ( it had 176K on it ). I did'nt do the lowering thing, ( not my style ), but the struts are great. I had my local mechanic install them. They were pricey, but worth it. I stopped by my mechanic with my 2007 Camry Hybrid and asked about some for this car. He said the car is too new
