Default Air/Fuel Ratio Sensors

I know this is a popular topic but I just wnat some clarification on it. I currenty have two codes P1133 and P1135, could you please tell me exactly where they are located and what tools are needed? If you have a part number, that would be nice. I am told that I do not want to confuse this with a o2 sensor. I imagine Denso is the suggested brand, correct?

thank you

It could be this sensor behind the engine (most likely) known as Bank 1 sensor 1.

Or it could be this front sensor known as Bank 2 Sensor 1.

Usually, the OBDII scanner will tell you which sensor it is.

I am not sure about the part number, but at oxygensensors.com where many of the CL members of have gotten theirs it is the one before the catalyst and it is $170.98.

Well, it is the subject of some dispute here, because on different vehicles it can mean the same or different things.

For the RX300, the O2 sensor is the one after the main cat below the vehicle. The A/F or air/fuel sensors are before the main cat. The pictures of the ones above are of A/F sensors.

Yes. That would be the one I showed in the first picture on this thread.

BTW, if any of you get one that says Bank 1, Sensor 2 that refers to the one after the catalytic converter after the main cat below the car.

Are all the A/F sensors the same (either bank)?

Yes.

Only the O2 sensor after the main cat is different.

I will have to defer on this one to some of the other members who have done this specific to the RX300, though it has been talked about in this forum before.

Definitely a DIY project though and not too hard...as I have done it on other vehicles with my uncle.

Would a Bosch A/F sensor be sufficient instead of Denso?

I would stick with the Denso.
