my antenna is stuck in the up position. I've read how to replace the mast and how to replace the motor and that is no problem, but wanted to ask if this sounds like a mast or a motor problem before I start taking apart and ordering parts. The motor makes sound when turned on and off, but antenna is stuck and cannot be pushed down manually--not even when the radio is turned off and I push when the motor is running. Has anyone had these particular problems before?

sounds to me like the mast. I had the same issue and replaced the mast and it worked fine.

Seems like the plastic is either broken off or worn out gear.

When you undo the nut, most probably you will find out.
