Well, I found a leak and I found the source of the rattling vibration after making a trip after work to Hangar 1.

The Sankei Resonator has something inside of it rattling around, so we will take it off Saturday morning and have a peek. I may switch it for another type of resonator depending on what we find wrong inside and if I find something better.

Next, in the photo below where the arrow is, we found a leak right on top of the weld. Once welded shut, there was a slight difference in the torque and the throttle response was a little better.

Kind of surprised that this did not throw a code so close to the O2 sensor (just to the right of the weld) right after the cat (on the far right).

I fixed the piece in the photo above and got a new resonator, but will make a separate thread on that.

This morning at Hangar 1 measured myself the stock pieces. I re-edited this discussion on the first few pages and took out the old stock measurements.

One reason why is that we wear measuring from the outside of the pipe last Saturday as opposed to the interior of the pipe for the diameter. Second, in their infinite wisdom, Lexus (no disrespect, you made me a great vehicle) has some areas of tubing that widen out that joints and appear to an interior pipe so to speak (we will see in the photos again).

Thus, let's take the pieces one by one and I will tell you what the actual stock measurements are, and then I will post a new thread the exhaust modifications I did today.

First, top of the OEM downpipe, just beneath the A/F sensor on the front manifold, 1.75 inches in diameter.

In the photo, it would be on the right side at the top of the oil piece.

In the upcoming photo, I will measure the OEM opening on the far left side.

That piece is also 1.75 inches in diameter.

Thus, 1.75 OEM on this manifold vs. the 2.5 on the new piping above.

This should be OEM here from a shot I took last year, just before the joint that opens to the cat.

That piece (using the one off the rear manifold) has a 1 inch diameter (I could not tuck it under there due to some overhanging metal, but if look carefully enough, it would equal that).

my sis is about to get an rx300 and i think im just going to have an exhaust guy cut out before and after the precats replace with 2inch pipe and weld and not touch anything else. as in leave the 3rd cat so the exhaust doesnt smell but get rid of the front 2 because its not a v12 it does not need 3 freaking cats. 1 is plenty. ill let u know how it goes

Well, I am not going to get into legalities here (and I don't want to bring up a debate, it's everyone's personal decision). Will mention again that one of my precats got fried down here and that is the reason I no longer have them since gas is still not U.S. grade. Plus, no CELs with just one cat.

I can't remember which parts of PA have/do not have testing, but I can say since I test here in Mexico City, the OEM main cat will not pass by itself where I am at. Only with a replacement of a Magnaflow High flow cat.

Now in CA, it might need 3 cats.
