Maybe I should not be saying this, but we did hold each of the 4 finalists up to the back of the cat to see how the sound was. This was BEFORE we reattached the O2 sensor after the cat.

Now, I was very delighted with the Hangar 1 resonator as I could not hear those high notes that tend to set off car alarms and police (in the U.S., but not here )

Guess what? No CEL with the O2 sensor out after the cat.

Another shot a little to the left with the O2 sensor (with new bung and 2.5 inch pipe) and the Magnaflow High Flow cat.

Let's take one last look at something...namely the joint after the resonator where the y pipe splits into the 2.25 inch twin piping out to the Arvin muffler.

It starts off as a 2.5 inch wide hole.

This was done last year by Hangar 1.

Finally, each muffler tip on the Arvin muffler is roughly 2 inches wide.

Total price of the new 2.5 inch pipe beween resonator and cat along with the new Hangar 1 Resonator with tax, a little less than $114 USD.

You like Mexico, now?

As far as how it feels...initially it is very smooth in the shifts...no rough acceleration and no problems on the low-end RPM, though on the mid-range to high end, but not at the high-end itself there is some minor hesitation.

Let's give the ECM a bit and I will see what it does at the track as it looks very clear for tonight.

Much quieter than the last design.

My little RX did break one record and pretty significantly. More so it did all on solo runs (nobody raced me , but we should fix that with the races tomorrow afternoon, as I run faster when I race someone.

It broke the record for vehicle speed easily on the first run. Old record was 123.69 km/h (76.86 mph) and the new record is now 124.92 km/h (77.62 mph). On every run of the night it surpassed the 123.69 km/h.

It was a nice cool night as shown below:

Air Temperature: 16.4 F (61.6 C)
Air Pressure: 29.92
Humidity: 46%

All I can tell Lexus is, make bigger exhaust tubing on your next RX

Here is the sequence of runs (keep in mind all solo)

10:17 PM
ET: 18.573
KM/H: 123.88 (76.98 mph)
60 foot: 3.159
RT: .531

10:21 PM
ET: 18.246
KM/H: 124.75 (77.52 mph)
60 foot: 3.013
RT: .630

10:24 PM
ET: 18.211 (second fastest solo time I can remember)
KM/H: 124.92 (77.62 mph)
60 foot: 3.014
RT: .742

10:28 PM
ET: 18.291
KM/H: 124.60 (77.42 mph)
60 foot: 3.019
RT: .714

10:31 PM
ET: 18.234
KM/H: 124.71 (77.49 mph)
60 foot: 3.010
RT: .492

10:34 PM
ET: 18.375
KM/H: 124.20 (77.17 mph)
60 foot: 3.075
RT: .611

The moment you step on the pedal, it does come alive on the low end. I still felt that slight hesitation at just above 4,000 RPM, but then it is smooth again.

I have a question.

Why did you a) actually put a resonator on instead of just tubing and b) why did you split the exhaust?

My idea is to take off my resonator and just run a tube straight back to the muffler and put a new muffler on.

But I'm only 18 and don't really have the knowledge you do.

thanks,
ajk

It will be too loud, twin exhaust pipes increase space for exhaust to pass through, same effect as increasing diameter of a single pipe.

TunedRX300 hit this one right on the head.

There is something shown earlier called a glasspack in one of the photos (a.k.a. sausage resonator), but my one night experience with it was not positive in terms of exhaust noise, but you will fly fast with it.

The resonator is a vital piece for quieting down the vehicle.

Without a doubt, in the past 24 hours, widening that piece between the resonator and the cat has just been phenomenal.
