My high mounted stop lamp has burned out, and I need to know what the best way to remove the trim panel around it is. Are there clips on the sides that I pry at? I was about to do just that but I'm afraid of breaking clips or the part itself.
Thanks!
Thanks!

hey, Kuz...you're rear indicator out light is on, right?
make sure that when you take the bulb out, you test it to make sure it's really the bulb that's not working and not the fuse within the system. I had this problem (and i hear its genetic) about 4 months ago, the indicator was on, but the light wasnt burnt out....
then about 3 months ago the light actually burnt out...
...as of this day the light works, but the indicator is still on. It's a lexus problem.. i think, search the forums because I had a huge thread when I had this problem.
that indicator light is annoying as hell too on the dash...every ****en time i hit the brake after i start the car it goes on and stays on...stupid computers.

It's been over two years since I replaced that bulb, but I seem to recall plastic clips that are easily replaceable should you break one. If you search this forum, you'll find some detailed instructions. I seem to recall that you start on the passenger side since the last clip slides rather than pops out (I didn't know that when I did it). I attribute my bulb failiure to auto body work in that area that must have had severe vibration from sanding, hammering, and who knows what else.

thanks for the help- all the lights are working now (strange) so I'll keep an eye on it. Yes, it does come on when the brakes are hit. I know in other cars with this system I've had the warning lamp illuminate even when all bulbs work. I think these things are very sensitive sometimes and maybe I have to replace all of the stop lamp bulbs to even out the wattage.
