Default V-Bank Cover Fastener Clip?

I tried to remove the V-Bank Cover (on top of engine) and don't know what I'm doing wrong. I loosened the 3 nuts on the front of the cover and the service manual refers to a "fastener clip", but doesn't show it in any picture or describe where it is or how to remove it. I hesitated pulling too hard since the cover is plastic. I did try pulling up on the Lexus emblem that rotates. I guess the service manual writers thought it was too obvious to mention.

I have not removed the cover but this is my understanding ..
The emblem acts as screw head and you have to spin it off.

Wait for others to give you more specific information.

Yes,
Salimshah is correct, the emblem acts as a screw to secure the rest of plastic (acoustic) engine cover.

Counterclockwise to loosen, opposite to secure once your putting it back.
Keep an eye on the allen screws as they will fall out of the cover once you invert it.

Finally, don't overtighten the 3 allen screws along the front of the cover.

Good luck

That's right only those 3 hex screws at the bottom and the emblem, which you basically have to rotate until it comes out.

Default Engine cover emblem

Well, wish I would have seen this thread before I pried emblem on engine cover off & yes, broke it. Didn't know it screwed on, like I am now. Anybody know the OEM part # or know where I can find one other than dealer?

My parts diagram doesn't list it as a separate part. The whole big assembly is called the manifold cover. That doesn't necessarily mean it isn't a separate part, it's just my diagram doesn't list it.

It doesn't sound like something you could get at a Toyota dealer. So, it sounds to me like either try a repair, try a discount mail-order Lexus dealer (like one of the forum sponsors), or try somebody parting out Lexus's.
