Ghost Windows
I was sitting in my living room when my neighbor called and said that the light was on in my vehicle (1999 rx300). I investigated and found all my windows down and the sunroof open. I had not driven it all day. Any suggestions?

If you hold down the "unlock" button on the key remote, that's what it does - opens all of the windows, including the moonroof. So you must have accidentally pressed and held the button on the remote for a few seconds.

The keys were hanging and never touched. I tried to lock the car from the remote and it did not work. Remote did not work again until I locked the car manually from the door lock.

Just checking to see if you got this resolved? My RX300 is doing the same thing. I'll see all the windows go down out in the parking lot regardless of which set of keys I brought with me....

hahahahahahaha.
it's one of those kids with those remote watches. you know, the "calculator" watches that are really used to turn the tv in the classroom on and off.
those watches haha.

I've had this happen once when the unlock button got trapped a bit below the edge of the key cover. I'd take your key apart and make sure to get lint out, etc. Get a new battery while you're in there.

I've had this happen too, usually when my key gets twisted up with other keys on my key ring in my pocket, locking or unlocking the car. I've found my car unlocked at 5am on two or three occasions and discovered that my wife left her purse in the kitchen - something in her purse got up against the key and pushed the button when the purse was moved. Now she slips the keys into a inside pocket with the buttons away from the interior. No further problems. Yet.

I suspect the keys too, has happened to me when the keys were in my back pocket and I set on a chair... or try a new battery for the key if it keeps happening.
