Default How much oil?

I have a 2002 RX300 (actually its my wifes). Quick question.. how much oil does this vehicle need? The manual says "Oil quantity. L 1.5" but that seems really really low.

I usually dont change the oil on my wifes RX but I wanted to start. I think I will use 5w30 mobil1 synth like I do in my 2006 Infiniti G35x, it takes 5 qts.

So, basicly.. how much oil does the rx300 use?

Thanks

Not sure where it says the above in the manual, but your RX300 should use the following:

with oil and filter change 4.7 liters
without oil and filter change 4.5 liters
Dry fill 5.2 liters (do not worry about this one).

Each bottle of Mobil 1 is .946 liters meaning 5 bottles equals 4.73 liters

Oh yeah, that filter location is a major pain. That is one reasons why I use a K&N oil filter, HP-1002 for the RX300, since it has a bolt on top and I can get at it from the top of the engine instead of having to go underneath, thus requiring taking off the screws and plastic covers below.

I picked up some mobil1 filters.. they seem well made.

I always use the oem filters for my G35, they are about the best you can get. Odd, but true.

M1 filters are also very good, excellent choice. Another good one is the Napa Gold.

Toyota OEM filters made in Japan or Thailand are also very good.
