Default Best fitting tires for 20"s PICS INSIDE

Hey guys, so I've been shopping for some 22s the last few weeks just to fill the gap a little better. Then all of a suddden I found out my two front tires were about to pop. My fault since I havent rotated the tires at all since I got them (30k miles). The insides of both front tires were completely worn and the threads were showing. Being my only car, I had to get tires asap. Now what I had on my 20s at first were 245/35/20s. Real short sidewall for an SUV. In comparison to the stock 16s diameter, my 20s were about 2 inches shorter in diameter, which really threw my mph and mileage off. So this time around I decided to go with a tire that was as close to stock diameter as possible, 245/45/20. I went with Toyo Proxes 4s that I got from Les Schwab for $975 out the door w/ tax and installation and balancing. (not too bad considering it would cost me about 175 each online wo/ tax and shipping and mounting). For some reason it looked a little wierd for me at first.

It's approximately .2 inches off from stock diameter so thats as close as you can get. With a 20x8.5 +35 offset, this must be the closest you can get without the rear tires hitting the strut. I checked and there is about 1/4 of an inch between the tire and the strut. I havent noticed any rubbing nor is there any indication from wear that the tires are rubbing. The ride is a lot quieter than the cheap Nankangs I had on previously. Ride is not as harsh but is definately more bouncier. So far I do not see a change in mpg either. What I really like is that it pretty much fills the gap between the tire an the wheel well. The back has about 1 fingerspace and the front maybe 2 fingers at the most. It makes it look more like an SUV than a 4dr hatchback now. So I guess I'll hold off on the 22s and stick with the 20s

Looks pretty good to me. I hate to see SUV's on little skinny tires. Big vehicles need some rubber.

Yeah it just didnt look right for some reason when I had the 245/35s on there. This is a much more better fit and makes it look more like an SUV

Thanks, they aren't the best rims out there (Damani Vanquish) but I like to keep the design simple. Not really into all the bling-bling designs. It's the 1st pair of rims I've ever owned and I've managed to keep them perfect except for 1 curb incident. I'm definately going with some forged 3pc next

I spent a good couple hours trying to modify the oem centercaps to fit but it didnt work. These are actually just vinyl stickers. They are high quality metalic stickers with a thick clear coat over them. 6 months and they show no signs of peeling or fading. Just do a search on ebay for "lexus caps" and you should find the seller. He has excellent feedback and the set of 4 costs $12 shipped I believe. Definately worth it.

Thanks, I was a little worried about the fitment at 1st. I thought the sidewalls would rub on the struts but they seem fine. Did you find your 22s yet?

i think i'm hold off on 22's for now cause this gonna be my 4th pair of rims since 2006... i might use the money other stuff like working on my system or save it up for the supercharger.
