Default What brake pad

Who makes Lexus brakes for the 2000 RX300?

Can I buy them on-line and avoid going to the dealer and paying double?

Thanks

Ya, The oem braks pads are Akebono ProACT Ceramic Pads. You can get them from tirerack.com or anywhere online. They are great pads, have replaced them on my camry. If you actually want the pad's from the dealer, toyota dealership should be cheaper than lexus dealership.

I replaced with the ProACT Ceramic pads too, didn't know they were OEM but I guess I can feel why. You wont be disappointed, if you're looking for something with more punch try Hawk Ceramic or HPS.

I ordered Akebono from www.rockauto.com and recommended to Lexmex and hitthepin. Hitthepin posted his experience is also pretty positive on Akebono's product quality and performance. Lexmex is trying to install them right now.
Akebono reported on its web site that it is the OEM supplier for Toyota.

Done deal - thanks guys !

Akebono it is. No reason to pay dealer markup for the exact same thing.

As TunedRX mentioned these have been great. I've got about 4000 miles since replacing the pads and rotors. Good performance thus far. I also ordered from Rockauto and their service was top notch.
