Lexmex great writeup and great photos! I will surely keep this as a guide when I change my plugs.
Two things I want to say. One is I recommended rubbing a little bit of antiseize on the thread of the plugs. This is will make removal easier next time and prevent it from sticking. I also suggest spraying electrical parts with an electrical spray to keep connection clean.
The other thing is what is the torque? On my other cars I do not torque to spec but do it by feel but I am interested in why you did not torque the plugs on the Lexus.

As for the connector problem with Bhola, Lexmex is in the right track. I have had this problem with my other car where the electrical connector seemed frozen because of dirt and stuff. The plastic electrical connector is lock with a tab. Push the tab downward with a flat screwdriver. With another screwdriver gently nudge the edge of the end of the connector to move it outward. Work at it patiently and it should start moving a bit. You got to get that tab down to pull the other end. Good luck.

No space for Torque Wrench to get to the odd number plugs. Got to do it by feel.

The stock/oem plug is a Denso Iridium IK20 correct?
I did read this whole thread.![Confused](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
Possibly 180K on plugs, not sure they changed them at a major service at 90K. Would old plugs cause RX 300 to fail Ca. smog test?.

Yes, old plugs can be a cause of failure on an emissions test. Possibly the old plugs are dirty from time and/or out of gap.

I am under the impression that the 2000 rx300 my GF drives might be on original spark plugs at 140k...
anyways, what I am wondering is what would a shop charge to replace all 6? I'd like to get paid for my efforts, but make sure it is a good deal compared to a mechanic for sure

I was about to attempt this until I got to the rear part of changing the spark plugs.
The members here on ClubLexus aren't joking when they say the rear spark plugs is a PITA to get to lol.
Front 3 is easy as cake. Overall, awesome tutorial Lexmex, you never let us down.

Just coming back to say thanks to Lexmex and everyone in this DIY thread for contributing to an awesome Spark Plug guide ![Thumb Up](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Overall, took me 4hrs, that included the beer and food break midway through.![Woot](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/woot.gif)
The pictures and instructions were spot on. I will stress that anyone attempting this will need patience, and MUST have the right tools. I am not auto mechanically inclined so most average Joes should be able to complete this task too. Good luck!
