Default Clear Headlights for 99 RX300

I was wondering if the clear headlights found on the 01-03 RX300 will fit my 99 RX300 without the need for any modifications? Thanks. My lights are all fogged up due to excessive condensation in the headlights and I was hoping to replace them with some clear headlights. Any input from you guys would be extremely helpful. Thanks

If it's just condensation a few minutes in a warm oven with all bulbs/lamps removed will help.

Yes they will fit, completely bolt on as long as you don't get the HID D2R headlamps, just the 9006 low beam ones.

Yes, The 01-03 Head Lights and Tail Lights will fit in the 99-00 of the RX300. How do i know? Because i did it. With exception of the headlights, there are two kinds. Halogen and HID. the 99-00 uses Halogen headlights. If if you plan to convert the headlights to the newer ones, be sure it's the halogen headlights so that your original bulbs of 9006 for lower beams & fogs, and 9005 for high beams will work.

On the other hand, If you want the HID Headlights, Like Me. It's requires a lot of work. It's very hard and complicated. I got the 01-03 HID Headlights housing and the bulbs as well. But yea it was a lot of work i gotta tell ya. But if you want something simple, then just stick with the original Halogen Headlights. If you have any other questions just feel free to ask

Oh yea, and of course the common question i get is: Can i just buy an HID bulb and replace it with my regular 9006 bulb?

Answer is: NO, you can not go the easy route and just buy an HID bulb and try to just stick it into your 9006 connector. Why? Because the connectors are different and 2nd, you need a ballast to fire up the HID bulbs.

OH yea and i forgot to say.

If you really want HID badly like i did. Dont buy the 9006 HID retro fit or watever it is and use it in your halogen housing. My godness, I learn the hard way and when using the 9006 conversion HID, the lights beams all over the place. When you're on the road it will literally shine like all over the place, (peoples mirrors, up the sky and everywhere) which is really bad. Plus it creates lots of glare.

If you really want HID's, buy an HID housing that will beam the HID lights correctly. it will have a nice cut off and it wont shine into other peoples mirror.

Default Thanks

Thanks for all of your help guys. Like turbo1 said, I am definitely going to need a how-to, in order to install these new headlights correctly. I would appreciate it if you guys could give me some instructions on how to remove the old headlight assembly and connect and replace it with the new one. Thanks again guys for all of you help

Does the hid housing use the 9006 bulbs also but just the hid equivalent?

No, the HID Housing uses D2R HID bulbs and not the regular Halogen Bulbs. The HID D2R bulbs are bigger and the connectors are different from the 9006 halogen Bulb. This is an HID D2R bulb

This is a regular 9006 Halogen Bulb. Notice the difference?

I just went with the 9011 high beam and 9012 low beam. They are really white and almost too bright. ANd no worries about burning wires.

9011 and 9012 are HIR. Those Differ from HID's (High Intense Discharge) I guess you can use HIR instead and go the easy way. Here's an example of these bulbs.
