Where can i purchase a repair manual from? I tried locally at Auto stoes, and they don't carry this.

Any site selling this original repair manual?

 

You can order one or the pair from Lexus parts. Vol2 is more useful. Volume1 has good stuff but mostly deals with sensor readings.

I have seen them once a while on ebay.

You can also purchase a Service Manual on a CD on eBay. Much less convenient to use, but much cheaper. I purchased Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 shortly after I purchased my car, and I agree with Salimshah that you could easily do without Vol. 1. I think the only things I learned from Vol. 1 were the torque specs and the jack points. I've learned a lot more from some of the tutorials on Club Lexus and this forum, but sometimes I consult Vol. 2.

I purchased one of the CD's on eBay, but found it difficult to use (not indexed well, if at all).

Discalimer .... Be aware of copyright issues when yu deal with scanned copies on disc etc.

The published books are costly. Lots of artwork.

Manual is for a 1999, is it more or less the same for a 2000 RX?

2000 is pretty much the same as 1999. I have a 2001 which has a few changes since 2000 but the 1999 manual is still more than adequate.

 

Nobody is actually scanning the Lexus manual and converting to PDFs. The PDFs are directly from Lexus but the same disclaimer still applies.

 

I took a look at this manual you listed for download and it doesn't appear to be the same as the Lexus manual I have. Either way I 100% agree with the copyright issues.
