Default Disable the antenna

I listen to my CDs all the time, and never tune to the radio. Is there a way to disable the retractable antenna? So that it does not come up when I play my CDs. Thanks.

That's because you have a 99 and Harrier has a 02. This was changed in 01 and beyond just for systems with NAV. Non-NAV should work the same as 99.

Harrier: I assume you have NAV???

With CD running the antenna should not come up....

But ..

The audio unit has a defalut mode when on, and it is "radio". The serial communication link, some how turns the radio on when it sees a problem with cd or tape mode. Again under normal operation the unit stays in the mode you select.

For what ever reason, you can disconnect the motor connector. Remember to cover with plastic bag and tie it.

i have an 00 and then antenna doesnt go up when i play cd's. I'd assume that there's a radio fuse that would control the motor...maybe, who knows! some one here will though, just not me

Yes, I have a '02 with NAV.

The fuse route seems promising. I'll have to check the fuse boxes.

It is very unlikely that there is one fuse dedicated to antenna motor. Most propablt you will loose something else. Do let us know what you find out.

I check the fuse list in the owner's manual. There's no fuse for the antenna. Oh well.

Default Black wire

I have a 2001 that I am pretty sure put the antenna up with just the CD.
I fixed it when I put my AUX-IN by cutting the wire that the head unit uses
to control the antenna. It was the black wire as I recall. I got to it at the
plug that goes into the head unit which means you need to pull the dash
apart. It runs to the antenna so you probably could access it somewhere in between. You just need to open it to keep the antenna down.
Works great, now the antenna can stay down when we are listening to Sirius
or iPod.
