ok...so if i DID NOT get the cleansweep and DID NOT get a new dash receiver, what would happen if i replaced the speakers?
Your sound quality will go up regardless, because you're replacing speakers that have been playing music for however long with, at the very least, brand new speakers out of the box. More than likely you're going to replace the stock speakers with higher quality ones anyway so you'll experience clearer, crisper sound even without replacing your amp or running through an OEM interface device like a 3.Sixty.

Try replacing the front with a good set of components and the rear doors with coaxials and see if that satisfies your tastes first before doing anything else like amps, dynamat, Cleansweep, etc..

If you need any assistance just ask.

ok thanks! i called a very locally well known car audio/video/etc store today and they told me that the speaker brand "focal" is good...is this true? I have never heard of them, but that doesn't mean anything. I thought JL was really good, but they said they were a step down from focal and that MB quartz was just ok. I heard mb quartz was really good. what do you guys think?

Default Whoa!

I was just curious on how much it would be to bring my RX to the dealer and have them replace the front and rear speakers + sub, and quoted me $1200.00 for all. Its $102.15 for each speaker front and back. 299.51 for the sub and about 4-1\2 hours of labor at $105.00 per hour. Thats crazy!!!
Anyone with a how to?

Lol don't go back to factory speakers! Buy some aftermarket ones and DIY! Try doing a search there's a write-up on speaker install.

it's probably because, if im not mistaken, the IS forum is the largest group on club lexus. you have a better chance of finding what your looking for there

has anyone heard of the speaker brand "focal"? any good? (for up front component speakers)

Yosh...just search around CL for front door speaker install...all you really need to know is how to unhook wires and the speaker housings...i can't imagine that you would need a DIY just for RX, although i'm sure there is one...

google.com's great too!

Thank you, miniround for your help. Will deffenetly look around, and if I cant find something, most likely I'll try to get a DIY put together for us.

I would love some kind of box for 10s or 12s in the trunk but to maximize cargo space. Like right behind the rear tail lights. Not this big but something like this.

Focal makes great speakers. Same with JL and MB. They do tend to get a little pricey.

You can surely get way better speakers for a lot less than that. Dont go to the dealer!

If you do a search, I think there's a DIY on how to remove the door panel. Removing the speaker is pretty much just unscrewing.
