Default change LCD color

is it possible to change the color of my 99 rx300's non-navigation equipped LCD screen? it's currently blue, but is there something I can do to change it? A setting? Some kind of light, see-through film? Any ideas?

also...check out one of my other posts here

No, that is not really an LCD screen but a blue EL panel that produces only blue and white images. To color it, you would find it cheaper to replace the car.

there's not a cheaper way around it? like buying a red film and putting it over it? such as the red film you can put on things like your taillights? wouldnt that combo make the blue a really dark color, and then make the white letters red?

Here's an example of the taillight thing im talking about (the site that makes the product)

what do you think?

ah..i understand what you're talking about.

but wouldn't you rather have a nice clean blue and white than an aftermarket-looking screen.. I've always hated those aftermarket headunits that had rainbows on them haah

hahaha i know EXACTLY what you're talking about!

the only thing im thinking is that if i have all these red lights in my car, gauges, radio/ac controls, window buttons, accent lights like i've been talking about, and red footwell neon lights (maybe), then wouldn't the blue screen look kinda bad? not only would it stand out, but then i'd have red white and blue!

what do you think?

personally...imo:

I have blue LED's that light up my feet and the passengers...I happen to love it because the dominant light emitted in the car is blue because of the screen. I wasnt going to put green LED's in because they don't match blue (obviously) and I feel that the color blue takes up most of the light in the car..I have a few pics of the lights if you'd like, but I can never figure out how to put them on here so PM me and ill im you or email you or something..

I really wouldn't go through all that work just to get the colors to match. you have a beautifully set up car as it is, so I would just change easy colors/things..

and about a film to change the colors...that would heat up and get hot...and possible bubble like the films on windows..that would not be good..

so put some blue accent lights and if you need to see the center console, turn the dome light on!
