Brentwood, Long Island to Manchester, CT
According to the internet it directions it should take 2hrs 53mins. I did it 2hrs and 11mins. Trimmed a whopping 42 mins off the time 146.05 mile trip. That include waiting in long lines at the toll booth on the Throggs neck and the toll both to leave NY or enter CT whatever way u want to see it. I really wanted to get back to CT , so i could spend memorial day out with my son. The RX never skipped a beat, The AC worked superbly, the engine was a masterpiece. When i was leaving i was going to use my car. Got 20miles out. Turned around and got the RX instead. BEST decision ever. I spent more in gas but i wasnt fatigued at the end of the drive in either direction

In Feb 98 we drove from Sacramento to Jacksonville NC in three days in our RX300. Was one of the most comfortable trips I have taken across the US.2600 miles one way approximately...

6800 mi. Houston to Wichita, Denver, Jackson Hole, Boise, and Seattle. Return via the PCH, then east to Redding, Reno, Denver, and Amarillo. I made the trip solo in three weeks, including stops to visit family and friends. That was back in '00 with my brand new RX - about 1200 miles on it when I left my driveway on May 8, 2000. No problems whatsoever - but I had the dealer on my speed dial.
I ran into snow on Berthoud Pass, and a blizzard in Western Wyoming, ice in the Cascades, fog and rain on the Oregon coast, and forest fires in New Mexico that altered my course north through Colorado. Three weeks into May I found Independence Pass south of Aspen closed by snow, and another re-route back to Glenwood Springs and Denver before attempting to turn south again. The following day, I was in 114-degree heat near Wichita Falls. Altogether I experienced just about every kind of weather and road condition known to man. The RX hummed along with no complaints.
I tried to do an oil change at 5K in Seattle - but Lexus was all but unknown in the Great Basin and PNW. The only Lexus service I could find was a one-bay shop at the Redmond dealership. Business was good - there was a three week waiting list for service. Not willing to wait, I called my dealer for an alternative. He said just enjoy the car, we'll take care of it when you get home. I did.
In two weeks I'm headed for Burkburnett, TX (scene of "Boomtown" with Clark Gable and Spencer Tracey, for you movie fans). That will be about a six and a half hour run with one fuel stop in Denton. I could drive to the airport and check seven pieces of luggage - for which I will pay extra - fly to Dallas, connect with a commuter line to fly to Denton and Wichita Falls, rent a car, load up my gear (if it all made the connection) and drive the last 25 miles to Burkburnett. I can drive it for less - both time and money, considering the Dallas layover and delays for security checks - and all that luggage is never out of my sight. That's why I call my RX the company jet.
Can't say I've quite "made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs", but that RX and my current one have proven smooth, swift, and silent long-distance runners that easily carry my traveling circus, family, customers, or friends and keep all entertained with a stack of CD's and the in-flight movies in back. After dozens of long road trips over the years, I'm still impressed with the RX's capabilities. It's not quite as fast as an A380 or a Gulfstream, but it's more comfortable, convenient, and the payments aren't quite as steep.
