Default Lease deal advise sought (SF Bay Area)

Hello,

I've been lurking here for a couple of weeks and this is my first post. After much consideration, I'm ready to lease an RX300 2WD.

The reason of my post is, as the title says, I'm looking for advice from fellow members who recently lease an RX300. I'd like to hear your lease deals to prepare myself before I go into the dealership.

I'm also looking for recommendation of dealership/salesperson in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Thanks a lot in advance,
ian

Post Dealer Info

Ian:
My wife and I just picked up our little black beauty this afternoon! I can't comment on the lease part of your question as we purchased it.
As for the dealers, we started out with Stevens Creek Lexus, as it was closest to our house. We were very specific about the color combo we wanted (Black with Ivory) and package (Nav wth 4WD). SCL asked us to come down to take a look at the car, but when we were there. The car was "unfortunately sold". They tried to push several different ones on me (old vs. different color vs. different package).
We then went to Putnam Lexus and the salesperson there was quite good. He agreed on a price after much deliberation ($1K over invoice). But he too didn't have the exact car we were looking for. However he kept trying to locate one for the last two weeks. On Monday morning he called me and told me that he had it ready and we can come by and pick it up! He was persistent in trying to find it and did succeed!
So that's the latest on the dealer scenario. I am not saying that Stevens Creek was crooked or bad, it's just that they tried to get us into the showroom by telling us that they had our car and then the car disappears!
BTW, the best deal that I got was NOT from www.carsdirect.com, but from Costco! Do NOT offer anything over $1K over invoice and they should do it.
Best of luck and keep us posted!
