Which do you have AWD or FWD?
A simple poll, but I am also curious to know if the AWD/FWD configuration was an important decision as to which type of RX300 you bought.
In my case, I originally wanted a vehicle for Mexico and it had to have AWD, and one day at after searching online I located my current RX at a used car dealer in northern Virginia and the rest is history. The AWD has been highly useful for me in Mexico given the type of terrain, but also on the track where AWD prevents spinning and enables me to get extremely good .500 reaction launches (good for bracket competitions).

We were going to buy a Mercedes, and did, took it back 24 hours later (too many service entries for 7 month old) Went and bought AWD 1999 Lexus with limited slip, heated seats, tow, been a great car except for transmission...Have had it since new Nov of 1998. Needed it to take trip to North Carolina for the birth of my first grandbaby...Loved the trip...

i never really liked AWD, because it eat up more gas and i thought it wasn't necessary for daily driving. then i got my 99 awd rx300 and my views changed dramatically. AWD just handles and grips better on multiple surfaces and i feel safer when driving in harsh weather conditions.
my mom even noticed a different feel when she started driving her fwd rx330. She regretted not getting the AWD version.

2wd!
I was ready to buy the AWD until I realized the FWD gets better mileage and accelerates faster! 1MPG more for every gallon and in normal driving (virtually all we ever do), simpler, cheaper, why not? Have never missed AWD.

Yeah AcleanSc4 TTE makes a lowering springs for the AWD rx i bought a set for mine off of www.l-tunedparts.com i think it was $360. Fast delivery too but i still havent put them in yet. One upside to these springs is that they will work with the stock shocks and gives u a 1.5" drop front and rear i should have them in fairly soon i hope to have some pics posted of my rx soon enough!

To each his own I guess. I like headroom, comfort, cargo capacity, seating position, ground clearance (rough roads and maintenance). I selected FWD because of increased gasoline mileage and less moving parts to fail. My RX will probably never see snow or ice.
