Default Main seal leak question (tsb?)

I just got my oil changed and the oil shop noticed a leak (didn't know where it is coming from, so they put some dye in the oil).

After poking around a bit, I am seeing that some folks are having main seal issues. Is there a tsb that anyone can link to that would help in the event that it needs to be replaced under warranty (goodwill service)?

Thanks!

If you have the base warranty then it expired 7k miles ago. If you want the "goodwill" to have a chance then sooner is better.

The part is abotu $30, the killer is the labor. There is a rumor that a method has been discovered which can cut the labor time, but I guess no one wants to change the book hours.

Look thorugh old threads and there is a talk about additives (if you want to take that route). You can also play with oil weights. Did the leak spring after switching to synthetic. If so revert back to dino oil and your problem may go away.

I haven't tried any additives. As for oil, it has been using the same dino since I got it. Has anyone had this problem and gone the goodwill warranty route and been denied?
