my experience with Auto-RX
#31
Actually, it was only 2/3 in the oil. The rest went to a 1/4 tank of fuel and through the booster line. The reason for the second bottle is to make sure it gets hot enough to clean out the plugs after the first run of bad smoke. I also replaced the PCV valve.
I wouldn't put anything on the tranny for this car. Just do the light flushes until you get everything out.

AutoRX for the tranny
I agree with what a couple of others have said about not using it in the tranny. A/T fluid of any type is already VERY high detergency and the Toyota trans. fluid that these RX's call for is even more so. I pulled the dip stick first and then the pan on my daughter-in-jaws 99RX and saw some of the nastiest fluid I have ever seen. (97K mi.) If I knew how to post pictures I would but it was bad. In spite of that I was amazed at the inside of the trans.- absolutely clean! I'm sure it's because of the very high detergency of the trans. fluid keeping the dirt in suspension. I am curious as to why more of the guys on this forum that do their own work don't disconnect the feed line to the cooler in order to do a complete change of fluid rather than the 40% that is done when you only change the fluid in the pan. It's very easy to do and the fluid stays nice and pink for a long time afterward. (I'm not really a fan of machine flushes). Hope this helps. Roger
