To connect it, we will need a couple to attach it to the piece that goes under the fuse box.

The only ill effect has been a slight jerking if I pull off the accelerator while at high speed. To really get the effect of this intake modification, you have to floor it and you can feel it right in the middle of your foot. It is much smoother than the previous piece and appears to be a little quieter (given it doesn't have that big gaping hole like the steel piece to take in the engine air). Now, I have not had a decent attempt at the track, since we have been closed due to the weather, but I always attempt the following.

Near my home on the turn off on the toll road. Once I pay my toll at the center booth, I floor it and attempt to see at what mph I am when I get to the blue area where the a concrete wall is on the right side. Normally, 70 mph is fine...this piece was a little over.

Incidentally, I measured this on Google Earth and with the slight curve it is just about .25 miles or a 1/4 mile.

Thanks, but no plans to, probably will end up modifying all of these things anyway at some point.

c'mon man, you are a mod now, how about showing us all newbies the proper use of some safety equipment (i.e goggles, gloves, etc.)

Actually only safety equipment I use is a seatbelt and a helmet, both are required at our track. However, at most tracks in the U.S. if you run slower than 14 seconds in the 1/4 mile, no helmet is required.

I got what a I consider a decent night at thet track in terms of weather...no rain. However, this intake modification is a track failure. Tried it several times and could manage no better than an 18.5.

Issue is what I have sensed on the road infrequently. From a dead start at the line, it does take off, but no sooner than about 100 feet later and it feels like the intake has its mouth full so to speak...the vehicle jerks back in sporadic intervals down the track. Now as I showed above near where I live, the vehicle sometimes can take advantage of this and use it to really fly, but any piece needs consistency.

Rather than design it for the moment (I do have another design concept), I will run with my last intake, which has a sufficient enough side opening that works something akin to a BOV (Blowoff Valve) to run off any excess air, which does indeed seem to be occurring with that lower air intake that I also had redesigned. Then we'll test that combination next week.

On a side note, I drove a Mazda CX-7 a few times, including beating it in a race with my RX300. Even after a few shots where I could get this FWD to launch correctly, could not do much better than 19.1, though I am pretty sure with some general modification perhaps high 18s. Turbo in this 2.3 L I4 vehicle has a definite lag. Even AWD would not have helped this vehicle much.
