Changed brake pads, which still have about 30% left. The noise is gone. But I can tell the strut is definitely failing since it is extending slightly longer than the other side while the truck is on the lift. Since it is quite now, I will wait for the noise to come back before I replace the strut.

Has anyone tried those, or any other coilovers for the RX300 for that matter? One of my rear OEM struts are signing on it's last chorus, so I'm kind of investigating my options. I have spring compressors and all other tools so going with a conventional shock absorber would be fine really.

I'm in the same spot you are. There are several quick struts out there now, Monroe being the biggest brand name. Replacing just the struts with the accompanying other components is equal to or more than the Monroe's. Just don't know if I want to go to the time and trouble of rebuilding on a 17 year old car.....

Any thoughts on strut tower braces i did have a second and it has been removed didn't notice until too late like a lot of things on my car. Looking at es wondering what fits neatly over for second brace.
