Default Can I polish RX300 aluminum [not chrome] wheels?

Hello,
just curious, I seem to accumulate a heck of a lot of brake dust etc on my RX300 stock aluminum wheels and the local car wash never gets it off... am thinking of getting serious and hand cleaning them, but wondered if they can be polished e.g with the Mothers' "power ball" polisher??? ??Just reading the instructions for it and the accompanying polishing liquid has explicit instructions about checking whether the wheels can be polished ... hope that makes sense

Thanks !

yes they can, but not with a mother's power ball....it will require a lot of elbow crease with different grits of water sand paper, not an easy task, but if done well, an outstanding result, much nicer than chrome IMO
If what you are trying to accomplish is dust settling, I would recommend you wash and wax the rims. When they are wax, no as much dust will settle, and the little that does, will just come off with water, without the need of scrubbing. The only problem is that you will need to keep waxing as wax will not last forever. Just my $0.02

Get ceramic pads, dust will be a thing of the past.

Just about any wheel cleaner and a soft wheel brush will do the job. No need to polish since you won't see any difference.
