Yeeesss, I am aware of the extreme age of this thread, so please just accept the info. On my 2000 RX 300 AWD, I installed PIAA 19616 low beam headlight bulbs, and Lumen SM194CW short LED 194/T10, white parking bulbs. Result? Daytime running lights went away and now the little parking lights run as daytimes. Heh, heh. I don't care how or why, I just like it. Parks/Days are slightly blue, cool look. I also changed backup bulbs to LED's, a big improvement over stock. Fog light change to LED not as good as stock, possibly overcome by PIAA's intense headlights, still working on this issue. Also replaced all side markers with new OEM's due to sun-fading.

I want to give an alternate view on this.
I have bad eyesight, as do many in our world. The DRL's really do help in seeing a car from a distance. For example, on a gray day, a gray care on a gray asphalt roadway can be pretty hard to pickup at a glance. Same goes for nearly any care in a dappled sun/shade roadway.
Next time you're driving, not the differences in the cars that have DRL's and those that don't.From my perspective, it's huge.
Thanks for reading.
