I would like to switch my interior upholstery from leather to cloth. The driver and front passenger seat have factory side air bags. Any suggestions or hints?
I recently purchased a used gold-exterior 1999 Lexus RX300 from a private party; it has 45,000 miles and after I took it to the dealer for the 45K service they said it was in awesome condition.
I would like to have the dealer or a reputable after market company do the switch from leather to cloth. The dealer quoted me over $4,000 for the Lexus factory cloth material, armrests and headrests, and this quote does not include labor!! Since the book value for this car even with the very low mileage is only $14K, it is only worth it for me to switch the material if I can keep the cost closer to $2,000 or so.
Does anyone have any suggestions for this Northern California RX 300 owner?
Also, I was thinking of putting on a WAAG grill guard? Does anyone have any advice other than on their view of the aesthetics of it? Thank you very much!!!

resale value with cloth seats will most probably be less [majority of perspective owners prefer leather over fabric]

Thank you for your accurate point, but I am not worried that the new cloth interior will get me a lower re-sale value. It is a 1999 with 45K miles and we really would like a cloth interior. I hope to keep the vehicle for about 8 to 9 years to put on 8K per year. Barring accidents or thefts, that means I would be selling the vehicle in in 2016 and I am not worried about what I'll get for it. But we really would prefer cloth and the only RX300 that was for sale, used, with cloth had three prior owners and much higher mileage. Thanks again!

Maybe just get cloth seat covers? How about them sheepskins? ![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
WAAG grilles are OK, though not as well made as Japan's aftermarket grilles IMHO. My front grille is from Japan, the rear is from WAAG. After 5 years, the WAAG's coating appeared slightly weathered, the Japanese grille still looked brand new / pitch black. Also the quality of the weld was better on the Japanese-made - appeared to be done by a robot. WAAG's weld looked rather sloppy done by hand - like my high school workshop project. As a bonus, the Japanese grille came with hard plastic nuts and bolts that were designed to break off in a collision. The WAAG came with steel nuts and bolts - now showing slight surface rust.

Take a look into Wet Okole seat covers. I purchased a set in black/silver piping to match my Silversport interior for use during snowboarding season or when going to the lake/beach. They are 100% waterproof and offer a wide variety of colors. Cost is approximately $600 for everything, covers headrests, armests, and entire backseat.
They are off my car now, but I will post some pictures the next time I reinstall.
