That's because I have a tiny muffler and a small resonator, no precats, high flow cat and bigger piping off both the exhaust manifolds...a good recipe for loud exhaust combined with engine modifications.

i dont have any mods except for interior led's and disabled DRL and my 3000-6000 RPM range gives my friend's 06 M5 a run for its money. no i'm not kidding. I haven't beaten any fast and furious civic exhausts yet, but god damn mine's loud.

the exhaust is loud? or the intake? i assume we're talking about the exhaust. whatever happens i cant really have mine loud...im only 17, my dad bought my car, pays for my mods, etc. and wont allow for a loud exhaust. i told him i wanted deep and throaty and explained and he said that's fine, but not loud or he'll have it uninstalled

ive been drawing up diagrams and thinking about the dual exhaust on my car. cause for me i dont really car about the sound THAT much, but i think i could make it work. lexmex i must show you my drawing or sketch of it when i figure it out.

I don't blame your dad. My father was much the same way with me at 17 and wanted to make sure I learned about modifications bit by bit, but without attracting undo attention.
Key I think if I can get around to it this weekend is to get a little longer in terms of length of the muffler that I have on their now. I plan to have it be a 2 inlet on the front of the muffler and a 1 outlet out the back (thus you will see a single opening on the back). I constantly scan other vehicles on the way home in traffic to get an idea.

what!? you dad pays for your mods?! haha dang i wish my dad was like that. my dad has to get used to my mods even though he is never in the car.

My father, my uncle and I take careful approach to modifications, regardless of cash, and we always try to think through the possibilities of a modification before putting out effort, time and/or money. I always am interested to hear of the stories when my father and uncle were growing up and how everything was mechanical (no electronic stuff back then) and trying to bore out blocks and nobody cared about how loud the exhaust was back then.

hahah yea...he wont let me do just anything. i have to explain what im doing and then he approves, altho he doesn't get into specifics, such as i told him i wanted to improve my cars bass so i have a 15" t2 installed with custom fiberglass enclosure and he hasnt seen it and it's been almost 2 months! but if i do something he doesn't like he has me take it out...such as when i put blue lights in the footwells. he made me have those taken out because he said its not the kind of car that you do that too. ooh well
im sure that eventually someone will figure it out...im sure it's possible you just wont get that incredible of a sound.
ok...just write back on this thread whenever u get it done...im going on a trip for the weekend so i wont be back till monday, but keep posting on this thread so i have something to do when i get back
yea i understand. everyone knows im not doing these mods right? i dont know if i made that clear...but i just learned how to open the hood of my car after having it for a year! the only tools i have are a phillips and that star shaped screwdriver!

ur 17. i'm only 19 and jus put that "texas turbo exhaust" on. i'll say it again..i'd put money on the fact that you're probably looking for the same thing i was. why don't you just go to a muffler shop and ask them if they have a "texas turbo exhaust". see what they say and how much and then let me know. i'm telling you that since ur dad doesnt want something loud and annoying, this is a great find. its loud when you want it to be, but if you're driving your dad around town you'll barely hear it except for the deep roar and then growls when u hit the gas. don't put that dual exhaust on just yet.

I did get work done yesterday, and did have time to go muffler shopping, but was not able to find the exact muffler I was looking for, even at Hangar 1, which is one of the bigger muffler places in the city. I plan to take another look in the custom muffler shops in Cuajimalpa where my uncle works, as a lot of the guys up there will make mufflers if you pay them.
Oh, BTW, I found out BMW dealers (not all of them) has started to sell the German Castrol again, only this time it is the better green (not gold stuff). Promptly picked up 5 yesterday (price just under $15 USD/quart unlike $30 USD a quart for the gold stuff) and changed out my oil and also they had ATE SuperBlue so I grabbed a liter of that and flushed out my brake fluid (I had done it earlier this year, but I usually like to do it twice to get all old fluid out).
