RX300 Pilot HID Kit Question
Probably a dumb question but I couldn't find any threads when I searched all forums. Also, wasn't sure whether to post this in "Lighting" or the RX300 forum. I don't know much about cars, but a buddy of mine just put in a plug n' play HID kit made by Pilot (he got it off eBay) and he offered to do the same for me. I've got a few questions that I'm sure any of you would be able to answer.
1) Is the Pilot brand reputable and product quality high?
2) If my RX300 is a '99 and I have the headlamps with black housing, will that prevent the HIDs from reaching their full potential?
3) Would I need to replace the headlamps with the '01-'03 headlamp assemblies?
Any feedback/insight will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

2) Any RX headlights that did not come factory equipped with HID will not let it see its full potentional. The headlight reflectors were not designed for HID in mind. If you compare the reflector of a RX factory HID equipped headlight, you will see a difference. Using a PnP HID kit in your car will just create blinding lights for oncoming drivers. The light will be bright, but no where near what it should properly look like. Lots of glare.
3) Find a set of OEM hid headlights, you should be able to use a plug and play kit with that...
4) Look into retrofitting another HID equipped car's projector into your headlight. (ie. BMW 3-series, LS430, S2000, etc...)
hope that helps a bit...
