Hello,

I have had my 2002 RX300 for years now but this is my first time to the forum. My first question; is their a turbo or supercharger available for the RX? I would like to get more speed out of mine, I took it to a local shop who charged me $1,800 for a "Performance Package"..... Joke all I got was a louder car. I love my RX but unless I can get mor speed I am going to get rid of it. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'd like to know just exactly the list of items they put on your car for $1,800 USD. For $1,800 USD I could probably do a bit of stuff to get that RX moving.

As far as a supercharger, do a search through these forums on the word compressor or kompressor and you will find many posts alluding to the TTE Compressor. Quite expensive, over $10K USD and I don't think it's worth it for what is given. See the photo below. I know of someone out in Poland who did it and also have been reading up on someone in Russia that did it, but I am not remotely convinced it gets the power output that it should have.

The TRD Supercharger that fits the Camry and Solara along with the Sienna is not a direct bolt up given the difference in the throttle body among other things, so you would have to do some customization on that.

As far as a turbo system, I have seen a twin turbo 1MZFE kit out of Japan from a company called Topline, but this was a for a Toyota Estima minivan.

I haven't heard of a Toyota Harrier or RX300 that has had a turbo system, only rumours over the years out of Japan.

Real issue, and a source of joy for this forum, is not so much how much power can you put into the RX300, is how much can you put in before blowing your tranny to bits. Keep in mind as we uncovered recently the tranny used in the AWD RX300 for instance, the U140F, is the same tranny as used in the lighter power Toyota Rav4 AWD. You can boost up the tranny through a group like http://www.ipttrans.com/toyotaauto.shtml

I personally plan to do this in the future, but I can guarantee you there are a lot more steps like electronic components and building up the exhaust and other areas of the vehicle for support.

The modifications I have done have all been naturally aspirated modifications due to the fact that I live at high altitude and also got sick and tired of feeling like a cow going uphill, but they seem to perform quite well on the track.

Performance Package? Wow for $1800 the money would have been better spent upgrading the RX's suspension since there are a few more available aftermarket parts.
