Hey guys I got a rockford punch 12" for my birthday gift and I was wondering is it worth it to spend another $330(CND) to get the amp, sub box, 4-gauge wiring kit, and also installation. He said i needed some convertor for the rx300 because it has some high thing and it needs to be converted to RCA or something, I have no idea what he said lol . And he is charging me extra 30$ for it. Do any of you know what that is? And he is giving me a volfenhag zx-8100 amp is that any good? I like this amp because it looks good lol i want something that looks really nice so it will light up my trunck and also give some juice to the sub. Can someone please help me ASAP. THANKS a lot

 

i would buy the amp, sub box, 4 gauge wiring kit and converter on eBay. then get someone to install it. it would most likely cost less then $330.

 

The High-Low converter is to send an audio signal to the amp to the subs. It's necessary although I've seen them for around $20.
You need a box to house the sub.
You need an amp to power the sub. The amp kit includes the wires for your amp, also necessary.
See if you can get a better amplifier than that, the Volfenhag might be inexpensive, but you get what you pay for.

 

I have a JL 600w amp powering my seperates (Infiniti highs and mid's) and an 1800w Rockford powering my 2-12" jl subs and you do need to but the converters. You can go the cheep route and buy the plugins for about $30.00 each or you can buy the electronic version for about $220.00. I started out with the plugins and quikly swithed to the electronic version, WOW huge difference in sound and clarity. Make sure you you take it to someone who knows how to install a system properly you must run your power supply down one side of the vehichle and your rca's down the opposite side to eliminate all engine noise. I

I got my system all set up and its working great. In the end i choose to go with Rockford Fosgate P325.1 Mono Car Amplifier, and Performance Teknique 2000W sub. And it looks really nice with the crome cover. Although the amp isn't as powerful as the sub it's still pushin that thing like there is no tommrow. I am really happy with the system and I will post pics soon and tell me how it is . Thank you guys for your help.

 

You can buy a line-out converter from best-buy called a IEC-LOC for 20$.
