Default 19s or 20s????

Wont be getting my RX until friday, but im already thinking about new rims. Researched and so far i only see the biggest sizes on tirerack is 18s with 255/55s. But i see some pics in the gallery that shows Lowenhearts that look like 20s or atleast 19s. But dont know if any 50 or 45 series tires that come with these 19s or 20s. Does anybody have them in this size and any problems?? Comments, recommendations??
Thank you.

Default Biggest wheel size I've seen is 21" for RX300...

So far the biggest wheel on the RX300 I've seen is 21"... Very nice...

Check out this website for pictures:

Personally, I think if you still want to maintain comfortable ride, 18" is the max you want to get for the wheels. 18" wheels will give your RX300 a more sporty ride already, so it depends which you prefer more: comfy ride or good looks. Get thicker tires if you want more comfortable ride, like at least 50 or 55 series tires.

You can certainly go for bigger wheels like 19", 20" or even 21", but then your RX300 won't be able to ride as comfortable as smaller wheels...

Have fun!

Damn! P-zeros on a SUV......... How times change, Nice tire!! Im looking for something in 19s or 20s, 'cause i always think bigger is better. I do have those turbolares in 18s on my audi and its plastic add-on spokes are stupid to me, so i didnt put them on, but it looked un-finished w/o them. Plus, washing those fittis always leave scratch marks on my hand......
So do those p-zeros make ur RX handle like a porsche??=)

While they do indeed look nice, you do realize that at that tire/wheel combo you've introduced a 6.2% speedo and odo error. I suspect you went with a smaller diameter tire because you didn't use spacers to offset the wider width?

FYI, 235/60-17's would have worked out nice (1% error). Not sure if they make the Ps in that size though.

JoJo,
Nice rims/tires! Do you know what the offset was on the wheels? I am looking at going with 18x8 Mille Migila Emotion SSL on 255x55 on my RX in March, but I'm still not sure about clearing the struts in the back. The stock offset is +20.

1. JohnsRX - honestly, never drove porche so can't really compare. All I know, when I bought this RX last summer with this set of tires/wheels, my first desire was to replace them with original. Then, after numerous compliments I decided to keep them. They turned out to be a real head turner.

2. RX300TC - as I mentioned I bought RX with them. I agree about speedo error. I was on highway with displays and it showed 52 when RX showed 60. May be this is a way to avoid speeding tickets? LOL

3. ObiDon - I don't know anything about offset. I heard a lot about spacers. As far as I know I don't have any and don't have any problems with clearing struts

I have to admit pound for pound, $ for $, hp for hp, feature for feature and plus the newness of the MDX puts in on top of the RX, and the MDX even have a 3rd bench. If it wasnt so expensive and so wide in taipei, i would of got it. I can kid myself that Lexus is more snobbish sounding than Acura but basically i think the MDX is a better buy if i needed an SUV when im back home in cali.

Dubs are the only way to go with our cars........ I'll be getting my soon hopefully. Urs are a little too complexed for my tastes, do u know of any simpler spoked wheel and not in chrome that can fit our RX?? Thanks, an enjoy that beast.
