Brake Squeak
I have been getting a very high pitched squeak from my front brakes when traveling at very slow speeds...I understand that this in an indicator that either the pads are bad or the rotors are bad...what have other people found out about brake work on your Lexus...mine is a RX 99 with a 105k on it...if it's just pads and rotor resurfacing then I am looking at about 250-300 for the work on the front (pretty sure the rear ones are good)
1. Does that seem to be a fair price for the labor and parts?
2. Anything i need to know about what kind of parts I should have installed?
Thanks for your help!

Since Lexus rotors are easy to form rust, and the pads are noisy [imho], it may be best to first find out if some thing needs to be done or at least determine the scope of the work.
Pads only
or
Rotor re-surfacing
or
New Rotors.
If you are DIY type, the pad and rotor replacement is 2 wrenches in terms of skill required. The procedure has been posted.
OEM pads are reasonably good.

I would have the pads replaced first. The giveway after that is that when slowing down even from speeds of about 40 to 50 mph, you will feel vibration in the steering wheel and this the indicator that usually the rotors need some resurfacing, of which I have done a few times.
I will confirm as Salim mentioned that the Lexus rotors are prone to rust, I have some slight issues on mine, but for the time being they are ok.
With the rear rotors, they don't make the racket that the front ones do. For me, when I hear a slight squealing (even after new pads) at low speeds, then I take a closer look at the rear rotors.

If the rotors are not warped and do not have grooves worn in them, I would just slap in some new pads and be done with it. Floor jack, six pack and hour and you just saved 300 bucks.
