Talking New Member Introduction : 1999 RX300 Owner

(I hope this is in the right section, if not Mods please move)

Hello Fellow RX300 Owners!!

I recently picked up a 1999 RX300 in pearly white as you can see by the pics below....Car had 55k miles and is in absolutely great condition, almost mint except for a few blemishes mostly on the bumper. I've fallen in love with the car and the ride, gas mileage is sometimes a different story. So far I've already had to change the Air/Fuel ratio sensor because of Check Engine Light code p1135. I got the part brand new from the dealer and replaced it with no issues thanks to all the older threads on this site and thanks to LexMex with all his help with previous owners' questions.

About myself:

I'm about to turn 23 years old, and work in Information Technology. Photography, mechanics, and racing are my hobbies. I began with a 1994 Civic hatchback that i currently use to autocross and road race on circuits. The Lexus will be used to tow the "race car" next year.

Future Plans;

If I keep the RX300 for a while, I plan on getting parts from Japan for it. I would like the Harrier Window Visors and minor things for now. I really need to get those front two windows tinted because i think it just looks off. I'm not a fan of mirror tint but if it comes like that OEM, its fine. I'm also looking to upgrade the taillights to the 2002+ model (or 2001?, altezza look) and get H.I.D's for the headlights.

Anyway enjoy the shots...

- Andrés

These are great photos you have taken.

I'm glad that I could help you out with that earlier error you got.

Looks great! I would be Leary of doing much towing with it though. The transmissions on these things are not exactly stout.

I've read a lot about that. the car weighs only about 2200lbs and i only plan on towing about 2-3 times every 2 months. Lets see if it works out.

Nice '99. I also have a '99 with 124,000 miles on it. Love the vehicle. My wife has a 2003 ES300 and there's no way I would have it over my RX300. We take every trip in the RX.
I had to replace the air conditioner compressor, dryer, and expansion valve at 55,000 miles. Also had to replace the starter at 118,000 miles. The rear brake pads were replaced at 91,000. The front and rear brake pads were checked at 120,000 mile scheduled maintenance service and of course rear pads were still fine but the kicker is, the front pads still had 50% of original pads left. Also original hoses and belts are still good.

Except for the air conditioner problems, I really do not have any other complaints. Everyone that rides in the RX expresses how great a ride it has.

I thought about 'trading up' to a 2002 with 48,000 mile, but decided against it and I'll just keep driving the '99.
