I bought my 2000 RX300 from a Chevy dealer! LOL. I found out that the car was orignally bought from Bellevue Lexus. I email the sales staff and asked to run the vin for the options list(actually I just want to know if it comes w/ the rear lsd option). Only one day but so far no reply. Is there a vin code on this site or is there a national Lexus customer service I can contact?

I guess I could just jack up the rears and turn one wheel and see if the other turns in the same direction but for viscous LSDs, I don't think (off hand) that's a good way of telling. As you must agitate the visous liquid to a point in order to get the power transfer to the other wheel. I doubt I could spin one wheel that fast! hehe!

Go to www.lexus.com and click on the Owners section. You'll be able to register and enter your VIN#. It'll get you some info. If the info you seek is not there, simply call the 800# listed.

I tried to register but since I bought the car from a non-Lexus dealer, I have to fill out a change of ownership card(ie... track the who has Lexus cars card). When you register, does Lexus start spamming your email? Or do they offer nice goodies or something? I don't quite see the point yet.

Anyway, you mean there's no vin decoder on this site?

No to both questions.

All you have to do is call the 800# to do the change over, or go to any Lexus dealer where they will enter it into the nationwide computer. It's no big deal.

You can't just enter the VIN# on the website without being the recognized vehicle owner. Why? Because once you enter the VIN it brings up the owners name, info, and vehicle options. You wouldn't want a total stranger looking at your VIN# on your car and then pulling up your info on the web site, would you?
