Default OEM Nav Installation w/ Pics

What is the number one thing to change in the inside of your RX300? For me, it was the information blue screen, which did nothing for me. The thing I wanted in my car, never came with, which was a Navigation System. I always wanted to have it, but never liked the ones you put on the windshields, I figured to I was going to wait and my next car definitely would have it. Then saw this post and it changed my mind and had to have it now. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=307408 By Flash14 who bought an OEM Navigation KIT and installed it him self. I thought to my self wow!!! I want to do this mod as well. So I did. This OEM Navigation cost me $1500.00 for a GEN3, if you want a GEN4 upgrade it would be a little more, you can see the differences between both with the pictures I have provided. took about a week to get to my house and 2 ½ hours to get it up and running. The installation was the easiest thing I have ever done. Everything came with pictures of previous installs and instructions, basically a plug and play installation. This is a complete kit, with all the cannon plugs, and only needs a couple of wires to be "tapped" into, one for speed, diagnostic, reverse (optional) for back up camera and the power antenna. Like I said every step is covered with pictures on where these wire taps goes to. You can not mess it up, that’s how easy this is. You don’t need experience to do this just 2-3 hours of your time. It is the exact stuff that Lexus originally put in, hooks up to the existing wire harness. I have a newer computer than the ones that originally comes with the 2001 RX300, mine is a generation 3. Navigation system is better than expected, voice turn by turn; the display is touch screen and is interactive with the radio, CD player, sound adjustments, fuel economy/computer, maintenance scheduling and reminders.

Pictures of the before, some installation pictures and an after shot of it done, just amazing…

Behind the unit, you can see all the wires are labeled so you know what they are and you don't have to guess.

This GPS tells you Voice turn by turn and and audio prompts, so you will hook it up to the amp in the back of the rear seat to let you hear the voices through your speaker w/o interrupting your music. Here is the amplifier.
