Default Wind Noise

Does anyone else have an issue with wind noise?

I thought the Lexus would have a quiet ride
(like my old El Dorado) but at 60mph and above it sounds like a wind tunnel.

Took it to the dealer who (of course) said there wasn't a problem but it's got to be quieter.

Any thoughts?

Tell us more about your drive. Luggage rack, wind deflector etc.
I assume all windows and sun-roof are closed tight and we do not have cross winds.

My RX had wind noise problem but it was a soft hiss (so soft that if I were to listen to the radio at low volume, the hiss was drowned). Delar replaced the rear door gasket and moved the slats of the luggage rack. They also positioned the luggage tie downs so that the eyes would not whistle as the RX is driven.

Next time you go the dealer, ask for the test vehicle to comapare feel/sound etc.

I have the luggage rack and rear deflector. All windows are closed. The dealer re-arranged the slide racks but it was still windy on the way home.

Sounds like its coming from the front windshield.

Bummer

Maybe it is the front door rubber seal. Check for nicks and kinks and ensure it is seated well. I have never had the need but have heard of folks using cloth/towel to test out the leaking seal theory.

How loud is the noise? Is it drowned by radio at soft volume?
Also try folding the rear view side mirror/s [exercise proper care while changing lanes]. Do yet water inside when it rains hard? I am trying to help.

good luck.

Duke,

Like you, I am very disappoined with the wind/road noise. On the freeway, I need to turn up the stereo close to 11 o'clock to cover the wind/road noise. I expected a lot more for a 40K car. Thinking a Cadillac may really be the only truly quiet car on the road
