Now we take a look and see just how we are going to make it fit. We had to keep at least a 1 inch separation between the muffler and the propller shaft. From my experience the sway is only about 1/4 inch under normal driving and about 1/2 inch under potholes and other road hazards.

You ain't right.

As much effort as you put into finding a few extra HP why not just bite the bullet and get a small power adder? Maybe a 50hp shot?

Now we realized we had to cut off a bit after the cat.

Actual cutting and the rear of the cat and the O2 sensor in view.

Because then I would be selling soldering material from the scraps of the internals of my tranny.

Now we are left with this on the back of my cat. Now you can see that flex pipe in front of it. At some point in the future, that is going to go. I still got a hiss when I accelerate with his, but the restriction bothers me (especially if I go to sea level) and I may use a two in, one out cat there, with a very small flex pipe on each tube into the new cat. But that is a future project.

And we are left with this with the O2 sensor and its bung. We will get to that at the end.

Now, I wanted to show you some picture of the actual store these guys have. A small two sided hamlet in the wall where they have mufflers, glasspacks, tubing, tips, etc.

Mofles as you can imagine means mufflers, but in Spanish we often refer to our exhausts as salidas or exits in English.

I still cannot believe how they can fit all of that piping back there.

Now we are going to weld the front of the muffler into place. We are not going to worry for the moment about the O2 sensor, instead it will just look like for the moment a straight pipe between the cat and the new muffler.

And now our spacing between the rear pipes and the two exits looks like this.

So then we have to cut some inches of pipe to bridge the gap.
