Default driver side front signal turns on when brakes applied

everytime i apply the brakes the driver side front signal will light up. it doesnt blink, but instead lights up like a headlight. ive replaced the bulbs on the front and rear driver side signal and the 15a hazard fuse, but it still lights up. anybody know whats wrong? thanks!

the only wiring i did was install hella supertones (about a month ago) and HID kit for low beam (almost a year ago) and fog (two months ago). I thought maybe it was the supertones, so i removed that fuse, but it still lights up. i did change my tail lights to the leds though.

I would look very carefully under the steering column near the brake pedal and makesure no wires are hitting the pedal rod or linkage. Just to be safe and eliminate shorts in that area.

ill be sure to check that out thomas.

i dont think its the LED tail lights. i tried unplugging them and sticking regular bulbs in the socket, but signal still stays on.

edit: i checked to see if any wires are hitting the pedal and all looks clear. but now when i push the hazard button the signals blink once and turn off. the fuse is still good.

zombie:

Dont confuse the load with the wiring ... the bulbs are loads and the problem seems to be something got cross-wired ... when switched on the 12v are being applied to the another (unrelated) circuit.

The reason your fuse are not blowing is that the two circuits are both legit (not shorted to ground). So you have to go to the last good condition and check all new wiring (splicing .. the connections that were made) and compromise in insulation of two circuits ... (inadvertent shorts created ... as suggested by thomas1).

[Hint: I always recommend One change at a time to minimize troubleshooting]

thanks for the tips salimshah! im going to spend all of thurs trying to find these crossed wires. i just remembered i was checking on the charcoal canister b/c of a cel a couple of days ago before the whole light problem existed. do any of the wire run through under the body? or do they all run through the inside cabin?
