Default Check Engine Light

My Check Engine Light came on and had it checked out and I was told the A/F Sensor is bad...can someone please expalin to me what this is, whether it needs to be fixed and is it something that can be fixed at a non lexus dealership/mechanic.

You need to get us the code, go to Autozone and they will check it for free and give us the code that is on the computer.

Just liked thomas1 said, bring me the code before you thrown down $$$. However, if it is an A/F sensor, it is referring to one or both (depending on the code(s)) of the Air Fuel Sensors that are located off of the front and rear exhaust manifolds respectively. Here is the one off the front. Yes, non-Lexus shops can do this and it is a DIY (but might take some effor in getting the old sensor off, but do buy the correct Denso sensor, 234-9009
