Question Glove Box Rattle Fix?

The glove box on my '99 RX300 rattles and there doesn't seem to be any "easy to see" fix.

My local Dealer fixed it once which lasted about a year but now it's rattling worse than ever.

I believe this is a problem known to the factory but what I'd like to ask you is if you know of why this happens and how I can fix it?

Thanks... Keith

The latch can be adjusted a little, but also the mounting bolts for the hinge can be adjusted to make it fit tight. There was a tsb on this a long time ago. I just dont have it. A little foam placed in the corners and adjusting the latch may solve the problem.

The rattle comes when there is a play. The gap changes due to temperature and typically cold weather makes it worse as things contract and are not that supple.

The choices are to adjust the latch. (there will be a limit).
Add packing materials (soft foam etc).
carry the fat manual

The Autosmash website got me the number of the TSB I'm looking for (604687 ) but Alldata wants $25 for a one years subscription so I can look at it.

I think I'll take that data (thank you very much) to my Dealer and ask him to print out the TSB for me.

THANKS GUYS!
