This is what I have been scratching my head over (no sleep) since yesterday.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qKOVWfVy6o

Yes, it is a V6, that may not be clear from the video, but I captured this photo and you can note the twin mufflers.

Please also note these times (which I assume are more sea level)
http://www.dragtimes.com/Toyota--Camry-Drag-Racing.html

Most publications I have read give this V6 high 14s in the 1/4 mile, and if we go up to Mexico City we are talking 1.5 to 2 second difference.

Now for the sake of argument, even if he does everything I would do on the stock vehicle (short of added modifications) I could give him a max, AND THAT IS UNFAIRLY PUSHING IT, a second off. Realistically, he should improve by no more than about .5 to .7. His tank was 1/2 full at this time and no passengers. He is doing at least one thing wrong and that is the reason I would give him something (let me know if anyone spots it).

That Focus is no joke, it is a European version sold here that is 2.5L 225 hp turbocharged bat out of hell and has clocked in the high 14s here. It has nipped a BMW 550i in the butt, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9i-NGjZB0A8

I can tell you for sure it was a cayenne because it had the stock ugly wheels and after it went by me it said cayenne. you can also tell because the S is much louder at higher rpm's and the v6 isnt quite as loud for the stock cayenne

"On the test track, the Cayenne ambled along to 60 mph in 8.8 seconds, the quarter-mile marker drifting by in 16.7 seconds at 83 mph."

The RX300's 0-60 time is also 8.8 seconds, so it's a wash.

It would be interesting to see this at sea level.

The reason I say that is that some vehicles just seem to lose more at altitude than others. In some ways, I am not surprised at this Camry's V6 performance above, even if I give it more of a handicap.

The Cayenne I faced off against was a legit 18.3 in its 1/4 mile and could probably have done a bit better, but somehow the V6s and 4 cyl vehicles suffer more up here, but not every one of them.

well my rx has an exhaust, so i must conclude that it most definitely sounded better than the cayenne. the stock cayenne isn't really anything but an suv with the badge of Porsche on it. the S is something to talk about...just like all other Porsche models...
