Default Turning Radius Specs

I don't intend to start debate on how poor the turning radius of RX is.... I am only looking for the spec.

Thanks

Salim

The number did not look right so I did a quick check. Since my test was an approximate, I am willing to beleive that 41.3 feet must be the Diameter of the tread marks of the outer most wheel.

It's the spec straight out of the RX brouchure. I have it in front me.

If some one can else can confirm my quick observation, we can call Lexus to correct the spec.

Default WHAT'S UP?

I couldn't find the spec in my manual but in the July 2001 Consumer Reports issue where they did a comparison of the Acura, Audi, Volvo and the RX they list the turning radius at 44 feet.

But what's up? Do you think it's smaller or larger? Either way I haven't had any real issues except on very narrow neighborhood streets. In my 'hood it seems okay, though.

I'm not doubting you, RX300TC. Just curious as to what the original post was all about.

It almost has a Wild ***** like quality to it.

Things have been nice, quiet, and productive now that Wee ***** has decided to keep his over-used opinions to himself

In the process of designing a drive-way, I needed info about the turning radius. I was unable to find the spec and reached out for the collective wisdom of CL. When I drew to scale, I needed my neighbours permission to tun the RX around.

It is upto RX300TC to correct the publisher of the spec only after independant confirmation.

Peace!

Salim

maybe the spec "turning radius" = "minimum distance to turn around".

So what number did you come up with for the turning radius, Salimshah?

Since there is no snow, or desert here in Austin to drive out a doughnut, I need cones or assistance. (Weekend project). My estimate for the diameter is about 42 feet. For drive-way I am using 55 feet as the diameter.

Talking

"41.3 feet must be the Diameter of the tread marks of the outer most wheel. "

Salimshah, those are VERY wide tires, by my calc a 12,588 (41.4x12x25.4) series tire. Don't you have some problems with clearance of the rear strut? (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

It just snowed 6" here last night, so if I have a chance I'll go do doughnuts and measure. One thing's for sure, the GS stays in the garage.
